About the Renovations
Daniels Run ES & Providence ES Renovations
Fairfax High School Roof
City of Fairfax Schools is moving forward with planned renovations at Daniels Run Elementary School and Providence Elementary School—a significant investment in the learning environments where our youngest students grow, explore, and thrive.
Both schools are due for comprehensive updates. These buildings have not undergone major renovations in more than 25 years, and it’s time to modernize key systems and spaces to better support today’s students, staff, and families. The renovation projects will focus on safety, modern learning spaces, and upgraded building systems, helping ensure our schools are welcoming, efficient, and built to serve students for decades to come.
In addition, the roof at Fairfax HS has proven to be problematic and at its end of life. The referendum includes a total replacement of the FHS roof to be done over a series of years to minimize disruptions to students and staff.
In 2024, City of Fairfax voters approved a school referendum with 69% support, providing the funding needed to move these projects forward. We are grateful to our community for investing in schools that set students up for success—today and in the future.
