City of Fairfax schools are part of a unique partnership between the City of Fairfax and Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). Established in 1962, the School Services Agreement allows City students to benefit from the programs and services of one of the nation’s largest school divisions while maintaining strong local ownership and oversight of our four City school buildings.Shared Partnership. These four schools are owned by the City of Fairfax and operated by FCPS through the School Services Agreement.
The City of Fairfax School Board is a five-member board elected every two years. Each member is At Large, representing the entire city. If you are a city resident, the City of Fairfax School Board represents you.
