All Schools:
- Comprehensive Facilities Assessment - Assessing all aspects of the school facilities, plus Green Acres - ongoing site visits spring 2023 (see here for more information) There will be a presentation to the school board on the FSA at the September 11, 2023 regular school board meeting. Fairfax High School:
1. Concession Stand (outdoor)
- Fall 2022 - Schematic Design Completed
- January 2023 - City Planning Commission Approval
- Spring 2023 - Architect Award, Design
- June 2023 - January 2024 Permit Review
- December 2023 - Geotechnical survey done and soil conditions currently being evaluated.
- Bid Process January 2024 - March 2024 - Architects have submitted plans to city and awaiting permit approval
- Construction June 2024 - August 2024
2. Press Box:
- The current stadium press box has been removed and will be replaced this summer.
3. FHS Athletics
- New washer/dryer components installed, summer 2023 to support FHS sports programs.
- FHS Weightroom floor fix to be done over winter break 2023-2024.
4. Concession Stand (indoor)
- December 2023 - Completed upgrades to indoor concession stand.
5. EV Charging stations
- Installed April 2023
6. Auditorium
- Sound enhancements installed April 2023
- New curtain installed
7. Fields (Turf and Lighting)
- Turf fields complete March 2024- new turf fields installed for the band/practice field and baseball field.
8. Stadium
- ADA Renovations - railings and steps have been installed, September 2023.
- New Scoreboard - City of Fairfax is working with FHS for new scoreboard - summer 2024
9. HVAC Unit replaced in library - March 2024
Katherine Johnson MS
1. Kutner Park Turf Field (joint project with City of Fairfax Parks and Recreation)
- This project is currently under the City of Fairfax city council and parks and recreation department.
2. KJMS Security Vestibule
- January 2024 - permit has been obtained and working with FCPS for construction.
3. KJMS Front Exterior Painting
- Completed August 2023
4. KJMS Asphalt
- New basketball courts installed summer 2023
5. Weight Room/Fitness Room
- March 2024 - Installation of new flooring, new exercise equipment, and repair of current fitness equipment to assist in the switching of the current weight room and fitness room.
Providence ES/Daniels Run ES
1. New mechanical replacements installed summer 2023 (not all units)
2. PES Playground fencing - completed
3. PES Kiss and Ride Lanes: School posts and signs to divide and merge traffic lanes are in place and in use.
4. PES - December 2023 - Landscaping planned to cut shrubbery around marquee.
5. DRES - January 2024 - City of Fairfax is working with FCPS to build a vestibule in the front lobby.
