Five FHS Students Named National Merit Finalists

The City of Fairfax Schools congratulates five Fairfax High School students who have been named 2026 National Merit Scholarship finalists: Rohan Desai, Elias Falke, Henry Mann, Michael Stechl, and Nathan Yoon.

These students are among the select high school seniors nationwide named as finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation after demonstrating outstanding academic achievement, strong recommendations, and other high standards. In addition, Fairfax High School senior Rohan Desai was awarded a 2026 National Merit Leidos, Inc. Scholarship, a corporate-sponsored scholarship recognizing his accomplishments and interest in computer science.

“Congratulations to these outstanding Fairfax High School students on this remarkable achievement,” said Dr. Dustin Wright, superintendent of the City of Fairfax Schools. “Being named a National Merit Scholarship finalist is an honor that reflects years of hard work, academic excellence, and dedication. We are especially proud to see Rohan Desai also recognized with a corporate-sponsored scholarship. We also thank the families, teachers, and school staff whose support, encouragement, and guidance helped these students along the way. These students represent the very best of Fairfax High School, and we look forward to all they will accomplish in the future.”
