The Virginia FCCLA Association is the state affiliate of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), a national Career and Technical Student Organization for students enrolled in Family and Consumer Sciences courses in middle and high school. FCCLA helps students build leadership skills and explore career pathways in areas including Education and Training, Hospitality and Tourism, Arts and Design, Personal Finance, Human Services, and Public Service.
Since 1945, FCCLA has provided students with opportunities to grow as leaders while developing practical skills for life and work, including goal setting, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal communication. Through competitions and chapter activities, students address important issues facing youth, families, and communities while preparing for future careers.
Fairfax High School’s first-place finish in Food Innovations is an exciting accomplishment and a testament to the dedication of these students. The City of Fairfax Schools is proud to celebrate Carrie, Heather, and Akshara for representing Fairfax High School at the state level.
