The City of Fairfax Schools is proud to celebrate four outstanding Fairfax High School seniors for their achievements in the prestigious National Merit Scholarship Program.
Ellie Russell, Ethan Gertz, and Kai Stone were named National Merit Scholarship Finalists, and Shubha Udipi was named a National Merit Scholarship Winner.
The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition that recognizes high school students across the country for their exceptional performance on the PSAT/NMSQT. Of the 1.3 million students who enter the program each year, only a small percentage advance to become finalists, and an even more select group are awarded scholarships based on their academic record, extracurricular accomplishments, and leadership.
“These students represent the very best of Fairfax High School,” said Superintendent Jeff Platenberg. “We are incredibly proud of their hard work, determination, and academic excellence. Their success reflects the strength of our school community and the support they receive from their families and teachers.”
The City School Board recognized the four students at their regular school board meeting on Monday.
