City of Fairfax School Board Awards Facilities Conditions Assessments to Moseley Architects

The City of Fairfax School Board unanimously approved a contract to Moseley Architecture for $341,638 for a condition assessment of five buildings owned by the City of Fairfax Schools. The five buildings, Providence ES, Daniels Run ES, Katherine Johnson MS, Fairfax High School (including Fairfax Academy for Communications and the Arts), and Green Acres Community Center. Green Acres Community Center, a former elementary school, is owned by the City School Board. The assessment will begin this spring and continue through the summer with an expected report to the board in the fall of 2023.

"This is the first step in a multi-step process for renovations and needs associated with our facilities," said Jeff Platenberg, City of Fairfax Schools Superintendent. "By getting a thorough assessment of our needs, we can look to the future to provide the best possible learning environment and improve safety and security for our students and our staff."
