Rising senior Kathleen Murray has been elected as the Fairfax HS student representative to the City of Fairfax School Board. Murray, a member of the National Honor Society, Senior Class Council, tennis team, swim team, Future Business Leaders of America, and DECA will serve for the 2023-2024 school year. Murray has been a member of the Country Club Hills swim team for thirteen years, and a pool operator for the Army Navy Country Club. This year, Murray was a Virginia state finalist and named an international finalist in DECA, a student marketing organization.
The student representative attends all regular school board meetings throughout the school year, providing updates of the four city schools. Murray will also have a year-long project she will work on with the board. Murray will begin her term in July.
