Daniels Run ES Students Dance Their Way to Raise Money for Art Programs

Students at Daniels Run ES danced their way to raising $32,000 for art programs through a two week long fundraising efforts earlier this month. On the final day, students were treated to a t-shirt and school wide dance outside with teachers and administrators, complete with a DJ playing music.

The funds will go towards art programs for all students at Daniels Run ES including a mural for the library, new instruments for the music department and new drawing pads and materials for the art department. Future plans include an author or musician visit to the school and grants for teachers to request materials for their classrooms or clubs.

“It was so wonderful to see our Daniels Run community come together to support the PTA and our programs for students,” said Lacey O’Donnell, president of Daniels Run ES PTA. “We especially loved seeing the students having so much fun together after so much time apart.”

“We are grateful for the Daniels Run ES PTA for their tireless and ongoing support of our students and staff,” said Chris Smith, principal of Daniels Run ES. “Our Dance-a-Thon was not only fun for everyone, but the programs it will fund will have lasting impacts on our school.”
