FHS Science Classes Create Periodic Table of Influential African Americans

Students in Ms. Terri Haskins' science classes created a periodic table of influential African Americans, both current and past. The display is shown in one of the main hallways at FHS.
"It was Black History Month and I wanted to make sure that students were introduced to some figures from all disciplines, especially as Fairfax is a very diverse place," said Haskins.

The periodic table contains dancers, activists, authors, fine and performing artists, inventors, scientists, entrepreneurs, and athletes.
It has been met with excitement from students. They have shared their experiences and appreciation for having something visible for Black History Month.
